Alternate Subject Matter Expert

Location: Schriever SFB, CO / Colorado Springs, CO

Security Clearance: TS/SCI 

Responsibilities:

• Provide expertise in Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) and Security Operations Center (SOC) operations within a DoD cybersecurity environment.
• Conduct threat analysis, incident response, and forensic investigations to support mission objectives.
• Support the development and enhancement of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and strategies in alignment with DoD standards.
• Lead efforts in security event monitoring, detection, and incident handling using advanced security tools and techniques.
• Guide junior analysts and serve as a technical advisor to leadership on cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with DoD regulations and frameworks such as RMF, NIST, and DISA STIGs.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk assessments as required.
• Assist in security tool configuration, tuning, and optimization for enhanced detection capabilities.

Experience/Skills:

• 8+ years of CSSP/SOC type work experience in a DoD cybersecurity environment OR a BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution fulfills the educational requirement for this role.
• Experience with the following tools: Elastic Stack, Kibana, Suricata, Splunk, Snort, Wireshark, Bro/Zeek logs, tcpdump, editcap, ACAS, Microsoft Office 365, Python or Bash scripting.

Certifications:

• Must have one of the following: GFACT, GISF, Cloud+, GCED, PenTest+, Security+, or GSEC certification

Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and hold a current TS/SCI eligibility.

Salary Range: $120,000 – $140,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
